## πŸ“š Pages & Pours July Meet-Up: The Long Walk πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ

Hey everyone!

For our July selection, we are diving into a classic piece of psychological survival horror. We'll be reading The Long Walk by Stephen King (originally published under his pseudonym, Richard Bachman).

Set in a dystopian future, the story follows 100 teenage boys in an annual, gruelling walking contest where there are no stops, no rests, and only one rule: maintain a speed of four miles per hour. If you slow down, you get a warning. Three warnings, and... well, you're out. Permanently. The last boy standing wins whatever his heart desires. It is a tense, thought-provoking look at human endurance, camaraderie, and survival that will give us plenty to talk about.

Whether you fly through the pages or are just pacing yourself to the finish line, we can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
