Painting Tin Pan Alley
Details
Tin Pan Alley was the epicenter of popular music in the early 20th century, and while the walkups of that block no longer emit the cacophony of competing piano melodies, the architecture hasn't changed much from those noisy early days. In addition to a seating area on 28th st, Broadway is mostly pedestrianized in this area as well, allowing for easel set up there, too.
Our meeting point will be the public plaza in front of the Ritz Carlton hotel at 25 W 28th st. Check in with me on-site so I know who's attending, and then we'll disperse to our individual painting spots. At 2pm, we'll meet back up to show off our art and discuss the day.
Gather your materials (watercolor, oils, gouache, acrylics, marker: all are welcome) and join with other artists for the joys and challenges of painting outside!
