The Diamond District is fascinating enough, but there's also a gaping hole in the streetscape of 5th Ave that allows you to peek through and see the facades of buildings that would have otherwise been hidden--and which will be hidden again soon, as construction on some new behemoth has begun. In addition to the jewelry displays there's also Phil's Stationary, which I highly recommend checking out inside as well as admiring its old school sign outside.

Our meeting point will be the corner of 47th and 5th, at the Hoka store. Check in with me on-site so I know who's attending, and then we'll disperse to our individual painting spots. At 2pm, we'll meet back up to show off our art and discuss the day.

Gather your materials (watercolor, oils, gouache, acrylics, marker: all are welcome) and join with other artists for the joys and challenges of painting outside!
