Painting Alphabet City

Nowadays, Alphabet City might be Affluent, Bourgeois, Comfortable, and Decent (rather than Alive, Breathing, Comatose, and Dead) but there's still artistic life in these avenues! In addition to Kosmic Community Anti-Bar and the bright terracotta on the old bank building we'll meet in front of, we'll be surrounded by a surfeit of community gardens and heavily ornamented old tenements.

Our meeting point will be at 11am at the northeast corner of Ave. C and East 7th St, in front of the old bank building in the picture. Check in with me on-site so I know who's attending, and then we'll disperse to our individual painting spots. At 2pm, we'll meet back up to show off our art and discuss the day.

Gather your materials (watercolor, oils, gouache, acrylics, marker: all are welcome) and join with other artists for the joys and challenges of painting outside!
