About us
At Painting With Friends we are all about making new connections, trying your hand at new creative activities in a pressure-free, relaxed and friendly. All sessions are run by me, Katie. I'm a professional illustrator and art educator who's been living in Madrid for 10 years.
I'm passionate about building our creative community and allowing everyone to share in the joy of doing art, no matter the level, all we ask for is an open mind and the willingness to give it a try. At Sketch&Social we meet and draw at cultural and artistic spaces around Madrid, every week is a new location! Our painting workshops are based in Retiro and our art studio in barrio Salamanca district. Materials are always included.

A very special Sketch&Social at a beautiful gallery here in Madrid. We'll be focusing on sketching the famous Caida Angel statue together and then exploring other sculpture and paintings in this wonderful place.
All materials and entrada (ticket for entry) included. Beginners welcome and anyone curious to learn more about drawing and to meet new people in the city and well as discover hidden gems in the city I love! We'll also go for a coffee during the session where we can continue sketching/chat about our sketches and what we saw in the museum.
There will be a resource sheet you can take home with you, including drawing tips & tricks and step by step guides to drawing more complicated forms. The main idea is to relax, have fun and let go of perfectionism and enjoy the window of time for your own creativity!

Join us for a slow, sunny Sunday ritual — La hora de vermut with a creative twist
We’re taking over the rooftop for a relaxed vermut session featuring classic Gildas, good company, and a vinyl DJ set setting the mood. While the music spins, we sketch.
No pressure. No experience needed. Just grab a drink, find your spot, and let the rooftop inspire you.
What to expect:
– Vermut (included in ticket price) & gildas available at the bar
– Vinyl DJ session (warm, groovy, Mediterranean vibes)
– Open sketching session (materials included- have fun & experiment)
– Rooftop views, sun, and a laid-back creative atmosphereCome solo or with friends. Stay for the art, the music, or just for the vermut!
