Come enjoy 40 minutes of silent group meditation in Lake Worth on Thursday nights at 7pm.

Any form of silent meditation / prayer is welcome.

Location: 823 N A St, Lake Worth Beach, FL 33460

(Thank you to the Palm Beach Quakers for lending us their building.)

What to expect:

- A carpeted room upstairs with plenty of chairs and cushions.
- 10-15 people (many of our members are not on this website)
- Optional bathroom / stretch break after 20 minutes (bell will ring)
- No teachers, gurus, politics
- No fees (this group is always free)
- At the end, we go around the room saying our names, there's usually an announcement or two, and then it's over :)

ATTENTION BEGINNERS (Added by Popular Request)

Welcome! There is no guidance or set form of practice at our group, but if you need a place to start, this information will be on a printout located near the entrance for your convenience.

Mindfulness Practice:

Pay attention to your breath. When you notice yourself lost in thought, bring your attention back to the breath.

Peaceful Abiding Practice:

Just be still and welcome every sensation that comes up in your mind and body without judgment.

Loving Kindness Practice:

Bring someone to mind. Tell them (in your head):

- May you be happy.
- May you be healthy.
- May you be safe.
- May things go well for you.

Start with people you love but try to gradually work in people you have negative feelings about.

Prayer:

Do the Loving Kindness practice above but say 'May they be...' instead of 'May you be...' and address the prayer towards God.
