Jonathan Dickinson State Park Kitching Creek Walk/Saunter
Details
This a walk led by Steve Mather meeting at the concession store near the river at 10:00 AM. Park @ the paved parking lot. It is 4 miles from the entrance to the parking lot for the starting place. **Please plan (30 MPH) accordingly and do not speed through the park .**From there we will proceed to the Kitching Creek trailhead for a 3 to 4 mile walk/saunter. We may take an exploratory spur but if you do not want to do that you can follow the trail back. Basically this is a slow walk in low pine flatlands. Also maybe some changes if the trail is wet from recent rains. We will be in the sun most of the time, so wear sunscreen and a hat and comfortable shoes. Bring water, walking sticks, and mosquito repellent. Please have enough water ( 1 liter or more ) and keep hydrated to prevent any fatigue/dizziness issues. Please bring your sense of humor too. ( Thanks )
This is a joint Pack and Paddle/RFAR event.
Enter the park from Highway US 1 North of Tequesta and south of Hobe Sound off US #1 . There is a $6 per car park entry fee .Hope you can make it. It should be a beautiful day in a beautiful park!
