Tropical Hike and Aquarium visit in Picturesque Fort Pierce
Details
Please join us for an adventurous time in beautiful Fort Pierce. First we will meet at DJ Wilcox Preserve 300 Michigan St Fort Pierce, FL 34946 at 10am to walk their tropical loop trail. Then we'll drive about 2 minutes to another exotic park called the Donald B Moore Preserve, and we'll walk their two loop trails. From here, we'll drive around 15 minutes to the St Lucie County Acquarium, located on a picturesque beach along the Seaway Drive Causeway. At the Aquarium, we'll view live coral reef displays, which are supported by the Smithsonian Marine Station.
After our visit, we'll step onto the pretty beach, grab our lunches or snacks and picnic at one of the beach lined picnic tables overlooking the aquamarine waterway. A bonus walk out to the Fort Pierce inlet is optional, one of the most dramatic of the inlets along the Treasure Coast.
Please wear shoes appropriate for hiking, a hat, bring water and a walking stick if you like, since there are many roots along the nature trails. Admission to Aquarium is $5/$4 over 55. You may skip any part of this adventure. The leaders are volunteers so please be aware and understand that you are responsible for your own safety.
No bathroom or port-a-potty at Preserves.
There is a bathroom at the Aquarium.
Any questions, please call or text Patty K at 310-710-3822.
