What we’re about
An inclusive, diverse, and welcoming secular choral community, where every voice is valued, empowered, and inspired to shine! We have programs for adults and youth, as well as camps, workshops and fundraising events in and around Charleston, SC.
No auditions or experience needed! Reading music is not a requirement, but is a welcomed skill. Our choristers are divided into four groups based on age, from kindergarten to adult.
We explore an eclectic range of musical styles, and foster a fun, friendly, inclusive and creative atmosphere. Our repertoire includes a wide range of music, such as folk, jazz, World, musical theatre, pop and traditional choral pieces. We strongly believe in leveraging the power of music as a positive transformational force!
With our heart-centered, "people first" model, we strive to ensure everyone feels welcomed and celebrated. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all, regardless of race, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, color, national origin, religion, disability, age or socioeconomic situation. Scholarships are available for our tuition-based programs.
We are a SC 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are committed to providing equal access to quality music education. We nurture musicianship, encourage leadership, foster inclusivity, and unite people in harmony, strengthening the broader community through the power of music.

SIP & SING, One-Night Choir: Don't Stop Believin'!
High Wire Distilling, 652 King Street, Charleston, SC, USCome sing your heart out with our 4-piece rock band on a special arrangement of the epic rock anthem Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey.
Whether you just like to sing in the shower, your car, at karaoke, or are a seasoned pro, you belong! No judgment, no audition, no pressure and no prep.
We’ll raise our collective voices as one, and create something bigger than ourselves in a room full of other passionate music lovers.
Drinks & snacks available for purchase from our wonderful host venue, High Wire Distilling. (Ages 21+ for this event location.)
*** WHAT TO EXPECT ***
Palmetto Choral Collective's SIP & SING event is an opportunity for anyone to sing in a casual choir setting for one night only. No auditions and no ongoing commitment. Just show up and sing! It’s an inclusive celebration of an epic song, while coming together in community to sing in harmony and make a little magic.***PLAN FOR 2 HOURS ***
In our time together, we'll:
1. Play some fun singing & connection games/warmups
2. Work through our song, part by part, section by section
3. Rehearse with the band, work out dynamics and polish up our parts
4. Record a casual “performance” video once we feel ready, so we can have the memory for ourselves and to share with the community.Perfection not required – No judgement, and no stress. Just do your best, be kind to yourself and others, and have a blast!

We will split into parts, and you will be taught your parts. We will have sheet music/lyric sheets available for anyone who would like them, but it’s not necessary. Each part will have a vocal leader to keep us all on track, but remember, no need to get it perfect. It’s more about connection, expression and fun!
This will all be facilitated by our artistic leadership team at Palmetto Choral Collective, PLUS a Special Guest TBA!
