Making New Friends Is Easy: Learn to Dance!
Details
Join us at the stunning San Pedro Elks Lodge for a beginner dance lesson, a "Step Up & Styling" workshop, and a "Broadway Styles" workshop. All in one evening!
The first hour is a true-beginner lesson. No prior dance experience needed. You don't need to have ever danced a step before and "two left feet" are welcome. The second hour builds on the first hour, giving you some more steps and styling. The third hour is a super-fun workshop where you learn to dance to Broadway show tunes like "Puttin' on the Ritz" and others.
San Pedro Elks Lodge is the most beautiful in the country, with a full harbor view. All Elks Members and Guests are invited to this dance event. You don't need to be an Elks Member. You can attend as the guest of one of our dancers who is a member. Just show up at 6:15, please. So, we have time to sign you in.
Come dance with us, then unwind in the beautiful bar overlooking the harbor. Stunning outdoor veranda!
6:30 to 7:30: Beginner & Review Class. Learn the basics needed of all partner dancing. Even if you already partner dance, this is your chance to review, increase your skills, and break bad habits. If you've never danced before or it's been a while, this is your starting point. No partner needed.
7:30 to 8:30: Step Up & Styling Workshop. Learn more steps and styling. No partner needed.
8:30 to 9:30: Broadway Styles! Learn to dance to show tunes like "Puttin' on the Ritz" and others.
Only $10 at the door for the whole evening!
Beginner class starts promptly at 6:30. OR arrive at 7:30 for the Steps & Styling Workshop. OR arrive at 8:30 for the Broadway Styles Workshop. You can take all three segments or just arrive for the segment that most interests you. The price is the same, regardless. Only $10 for the whole evening or any part thereof. If you've never partner danced before or are a bit rusty, though, please arrive at 6:30 for the beginner class. It's a great idea review of the basics of partner dancing.
IMPORTANT: When you check-in at the front desk of the Elks Lodge, say you are coming for the dance lesson. Don't say you're with "a group" or a "Meetup". That will confuse the receptionist. They won't know of any "Group" or "Meetup". They will only know about the dance lesson.
