What we're about

“Nude recreation embraces the joy of living and experiencing nature in the most natural way possible. To relax and be nude is to let you be totally free. Although we enjoy clothing-free activities in appropriate settings, we also choose to wear clothes when practical. Nudists respect each other's individuality. Our own self-esteem is enhanced by our ability to accept ourselves as we really are. We find it easy to accept others regardless of physical size, shape, or body condition. Moreover, social class distinctions, often indicated by clothing, disappear. Relaxation, stress relief, positive body image, and increasing self-esteem are just a few of the reasons people choose the nudist lifestyle.” [ From American Association of Nude Recreation web page ]

Although often misrepresented in the media and misunderstood by the general public, nudist/naturist recreation is not about sex and neither is this group. This group is for genuine nudists and those that are interested in exploring this form of recreation to "meet and participate in nude recreational activities with other nudists in the area." We are always open to ideas and volunteers for activities examples being hikes, road trips to nude beaches and resorts, board/card/video game nights, DVD/movie nights, volleyball and tennis, and pool/hot tub parties.

The nudist lifestyle is all about freedom. The freedom to express yourself in a true and honest manner. The freedom to feel natural and relaxed. The freedom to be exactly who you are in a space that's free of stress, free of judgment, and free of negativity.

Being nude around people who are clothed (textile) is sometimes uncomfortable. For everybody's comfort, nudity is expected/encouraged at our events but almost never “required.” If you don't wish to be naked at any time for any reason, nobody will force you. This is about freedom to be nude, not requirement to be nude.

We try to schedule a variety of events to appeal to different interests. We also try to schedule events in different places in and around Pennsylvania so that not everyone always has to drive too far to reach us. And we're always looking for ideas! If you have an idea for an activity or a place we can host it, please suggest!

If you have any questions at all, please ask!
