Discover the traditional art of paper marbling during a 2 hour introductory workshop. No prior experience is required. It will be a small workshop with 4 persons maximum π§βπ¨
Ebru, also known as paper marbling, is a traditional technique where pigments float on the surface of a water-based solution. Patterns are created using tools like styluses and combs, then carefully transferred onto paper.
This technique started around the 13th, rooted in central asia and developed in the ottoman empire, then China, India, Persia. It was also used in Europe later to embellish books.
What to expect:
β Introduction to the basic principles of Ebru
β Presentation of traditional materials: tray, water bath, pigments, ox gall, brushes, styluses, combs, pipettes
β Demonstration and step-by-step guidance through traditional patterns
β Time to create and transfer your own marbled artworks onto paper
