[ONLINE] #34 Jenny Ren on Linux Performance Revolution

Details

Let's revive Papers We Love :-)

Jenny Ren will discuss "An Analysis of Performance Evolution of Linux's Core Operations" (https://dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/3341301.3359640). And Jenny is the author of the paper! (You shouldn't need to read the paper ahead of the event, but if you want to but don't have much time, here is a blog post by The Morning Paper that provides a summary: https://blog.acolyer.org/2019/11/04/an-analysis-of-performance-evolution-of-linuxs-core-operations/)

We'll be meeting on Zoom. Here is the URL:
https://utoronto.zoom.us/j/82208142962

Meeting ID: 822 0814 2962
Passcode: 022135

Also, we should revive this community. If there is a paper that you have recently read and you found interesting, please sign up to present it! Or if there is a paper that you really want to read, you should also sign up for a presentation -- there is no better way to learn something than teaching it!

Jenny is a Computer Engineering PhD candidate in Computer Engineering at UofT, working on software systems. Her research spans from log analysis, failure reproduction to performance study & diagnosis. When she manages to escape from UofT, she has interned in San Francisco and Seattle (virtually).
