AnDre Mali Bio
Born and raised on the east coast, jazz trumpeter, AnDré, received international
recognition winning a North American Music Award in Toronto, Ontario. He's been
on stage with George Clinton and other Grammy winning artists. After briefly
signing with a New York modeling agency at the end of 2005, he decided to
resume his music career and officially ended his contract in 2008. In 2009, he
composed the music for the Independent film noir, "A Taste of Desperation", while
performing on multiple instruments and making a cameo appearance. Mr Mali
also received acclaim for his guest spot on UK singer, Sam Moore's album,
"Splendid Isolation". He has been featured on recordings with numerous artists
ranging from Gospel to Rock music. During the summer of 2010, he was the
feature of an hour long television documentary special on jazz music, and also
credited as the co-producer.
Internationally Acclaimed Trumpeter Andre MaliIn 2011, AnDre won another award in the blues genre, and has since been in featured publications. The following year he was part of a nomination and finalist
for the Jazz Journalists Association. In 2013, his likeness was seen in a
commercial for Lexus. He continues to tour internationally and is known also for
his relentless efforts involving the arts and education, along with humanitarian
efforts. Additionally, his image is used in promotion for an award winning NYC
photography company and featured in the work of photographer, Mike McGreggor,
along with notables such as Prince, Bill Clinton, and others. His first book, "Being
Through the Eyes of the Soul" was self published in 2014. In the spring of 2014,
he was shown in Colorado Life Magazine. A year later, in 2015, his image was
used in a photography book by Gary Isaacs, entitled "The Lions Lair". Renowned
artist, Alberto Becerra, has additionally made him the subject for one of his works.
AnDré continues to lead a world class jazz quartet, make appearances with multi-
award winning artists, while developing a non-profit organization, composing
music addressing human rights issues, and writing.
John Funkhouser, a native of the Boston, studied classical piano from the age of
seven, and classical bass starting at age nine. He earned a B.A. in Musicology at
Cornell University and returned to Boston to earn a Masters degree from New England
Conservatory in jazz piano, bass and composition in 1995. After a year performing in

Singapore and four years performing and teaching in New York City, John again
returned to Boston in 2000 to raise a family, perform, and accept a job at Berklee
College of Music, where he taught ear training, piano, bass, harmony, and ensembles
until 2021. He currently resides in Albuquerque, NM, where he is an active
performer and teacher.

Arnaldo Acosta, a Caribbean born drummer, has been established in New Mexico
since 1996. Arnaldo has been playing in multiple styles of drumming/music with many
of top New Mexican musicians. From jazz to Latin, he is highly versatile in those and
many other styles.
