Peter Jandula, Special Guest - Viola
is a Polish born violist. His first full time professional job
was with the New Mexico Symphony, the predecessor of the NM Phil. After 6
years with the orchestra as an Assistant and later Principal Violist, he moved to
L.A. to pursue a career in the movies, recording music scores for John Williams,
James Horner, Hans Zimmer, Tom Newman, Randy Newman, Alexandre Desplat
and many others. He was also an original member of the band accompanying
famed ‘Will & Grace’ actor, Megan Mullally.
Peter was also a member of the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra under Placido
Domingo, and the Hollywood Bowl orchestra under John Mauceri.
He returned to Albuquerque in 2022 and made the city his permanent home.
Alex Murzyn’s versatile musicianship has made him the most in demand saxophonist in New Mexico. Relocating from the San Francisco area, where he played with numerous bands, including Huey Lewis and the News, Ray Obiedo, Pete Escovedo, Tito Puente, Sheila Escovedo (Sheila E), Ray Charles Orchestra, Stanley Clark, and the Stan Kenton Legacy Orchestra, with a career spanning three decades. He has three CDs under his name, and is working to complete the fourth soon to be released. He brings his unique background of R & B and modern jazz to the table whenever he plays. He is equally accomplished on sax, flute and clarinet.
Bevan Manson is a composer, pianist, and arranger with one foot firmly planted in the jazz world and the other in the classical world. He is known for his concert and jazz compositions often featuring lyrical melodies, complex rhythmic ideas, and rich harmonies and orchestrations. His music has been placed in films and TV, and he has received composing and arranging commissions from Sierra Chamber Music, the Pacific Philharmonic Foundation, the San Francisco Symphony, First Night Boston, the Channel Islands Chamber Orchestra, the Wilder Trio and from many extraordinary individual musicians.

The Animas Trio
**Helen Goode, clarinet-**Helen graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music,
England, and the Royal College of Music. While in London, she performed with the BBC
Philharmonic, Manchester Camerata, and Söd-Bayerische Philharmonie. She was a
finalist in the Boosey and Hawkes Clarinet Competition.
She now freelances with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, L.A. Chamber Orchestra, Los
Angeles Master Chorale, and Santa Barbara Symphony. Helen recently recorded with
the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London where she performed the Tone Poem for
Clarinet and Orchestra by Charles Fernandez.
Besides the Animas Trio, Helen also has been a member of the L.A.-based Wilder Trio,
with whom she performed Bevan Manson’s Trio Burque in 2024 several times. She also
performs regularly at Music In The Mountains in Durango.
**Andrew Picken, viola-**Andrew Picken is the Principal Violist of the Pasadena
Symphony, and Associate Principal Violist of the Los Angeles Opera. He has been a
member of many other ensembles including the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Santa
Barbara Symphony, Long Beach Symphony, and the Pacific Symphony. He has
performed at Chamber Music Unbound in Mammoth Lakes, CA, the Oregon Bach
Festival and the Nevada Chamber Music Festival.
A dedicated pedagogue, Andrew is on the faculty of the Coburn School as well as the
Pasadena Conservatory. Andrew is an avid chamber music player also; besides the
Animas Trio, he is also a member of the Pasadena String Quartet and has performed
with the great cellist Lynn Harrell and the violinist Robert Vernon. He has recorded with
the Coup D’Archer String Quartet on the Crystal Records label.
**Cynthia Bauhof-Williams, piano-**Cynthia has performed at the Aspen Music Festival,
the 92nd Street Y in New York City, the Dame Myra Hess Concert Series, the Hildegard
Festival, the International String Conference in Graz, Austria, the National Cello
Institute, and many others.
She has been an extra keyboardist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. A resident of
Durango, she often performs 4-hand piano with pianist Marilyn Garst. Besides the
Animas Trio, she has also been a member of the Wilder Trio, which performed Bevan
Manson’s Trio Burque several times in 2024. She is a former faculty member of the
Pasadena Conservatory and is married to Norman Pearson, former Principal Tubist of
the Los Angeles Philharmonic, with whom she premiered Alex Shapiro’s Music For Two
Big Instruments.
