Welcome to our Parai Tamil Reading Group!
Who should join?
If you are interested in reading in Tamil or need that nudge to restart reading, Let us do it. Club is open to any Tamil anywhere in the world, but preferrably out of India.
What we will be doing?
We will be reading Tamil books or English books about Tamils. Books need not be read together, you can talk about a book that you read and lend it to others in the group. The idea is to generate interest in reading and to facilitate availability or procurring books. We will only discuss about the books we read or intend to read. No Good morning, Ganesha pictures, memes and selling in our WhatsApp group.
How we meet?
- Club will be meeting online, once a fortnight. Hence open to all, irrespective of location.
- Once a month, those who can, join us in the Tooting London Library. This will help the Library maintain the Tamil section, Tamil section has really shrunk to accommodate Urdu books, as unlike us they are so active.
What we expect from you?
We all lead very busy lives, so even if you have not read nothing, come join us, simply join for a great conversation. Let's dive deep into the world of Parai Tamil literature together!

Oh, some of us in the book club do a free Parai training in Sutton, once a month.
