What we’re about
This group is for parents who have become estranged or alienated from one or more of their adult children.
The group would be of interest to mothers and/or fathers (or grandparents) who have minimal or no contact with an adult son or daughter (or grandchild) because of the withdrawal/rejection by that child.
The group is intended to provide an opportunity for estranged parents to meet and exchange experiences and coping strategies. It is not the intention of the group to provide professional psychotherapy or counselling services.
Group membership is open to all parents who are experiencing estrangement as a result of rejection/withdrawal by their adult children. Face-to-face meetings are held on a regular basis at a location in Kakaako.
