What we’re about
Parenting a young adult with Autism can be challenging and very lonely without a community of resources and support. My name is Betty Blaney. I'm a mother of an amazing young man with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities. I'm also a retired School Psychologist and the current Director of Skill Builders Social and Life Skills Services. Since 2006, I operated a successful program in Walnut Creek, CA. I launched my program due to the lack of support in the area for my son. Since 2006, I have supported thousands of children, teens, young adults as well as parents. Recently, I moved to Lincoln, CA and have found that support is lacking here as well. So, here I am again wanting to support the community with my experience and knowledge.
I'd love to hear from parents interested in forming a group to brainstorm ideas and share resources. I'm also available to help older teens and young adults who are interesting in learning how to navigate their lives more independently.
