What we’re about
Being a parent is hard enough — navigating the legal system on top of that can feel overwhelming, confusing, and isolating.
This group is a space for parents facing big legal questions — whether you're going through a divorce, building a co-parenting plan, or dealing with an injury or wrongful death claim involving your child or family.
Each session offers plain-English guidance, real-world insights, and space for Q&A — all with the goal of helping you make empowered, informed, and peaceful decisions. No legal jargon, no pressure, no judgment.
Topics may include:
—How to settle a child’s injury insurance claim responsibly, with or without a lawyer
—Creative, child-centered approaches to parenting plans
—What to expect when negotiating with insurers or dealing with wrongful death claims
—How to avoid court when possible — and what to know if you can’t
—Requests from group members (bring your questions!)
Led by Galen Trine-McMahan, an attorney turned mediator, this group is free, Zoom-based, and open to all who are navigating the intersection of parenthood and legal complexity.
