How to add continuous delivery right now

Abstract:

Implementing and maintaining continuous delivery (and its component processes of continuous integration, testing, linting, building, deploying, etc.) is a lot of work.

How do we balance the time and care required for continuous delivery with the need to ship things now?

This talk will show why it’s important to constantly improve continuous delivery as you work, and teach you to approach the problem effectively so that even if you have to spend some time today, in the long run you can move faster with less stress.

Bio:

Christie Warwick (Wilson) (she/her) is a software engineer with a passion for building quality software and having fun doing it.

During her career she has worked on everything from currency exchange to AAA games.

Currently she builds continuous delivery tools at Google, where she is proud to have co-created Tekton: an open-source continuous delivery platform built on kubernetes.

She is the author of Grokking Continuous Delivery and a speaker at Kubecon, QCon, OSCON and more. In her spare time she influences company culture through cat pictures.
