Dear ML enthusiasts,
We will discuss this Tuesday the ethics and societal impact of AI applied in mass public surveillance. This event will not be focused on technical aspect but will bring a societal standpoint to the topic.
The point WILL NOT BE to discuss politics but rather to discuss the ethical and societal implications. The focus will be primarily on China though it is not the only country doing mass public surveillance. This choice was led by the recent news and concerns about the Chinese mass public surveillance technologies and its spread around the world.
In order to take active part of the conversation, you're very encouraged to read the following 6 articles. They are not long to read and will provide a much richer conversation within the group. The discussion direction will be led by those articles.
