GR1: Stage 3 2/2 - Villennes-sur-Seine to Vernouillet-Verneuil (13 km)

Our GR1 Adventure continues with the 2nd part of Stage 3!
We’ll start our hike at Villennes-sur-Seine Train Station, where we finished last time. The route follows quiet trails shaded by oak and chestnut trees, and passing old stone houses typical of the Yvelines region. It offers a mix of open views and forest calm, making it a refreshing and balanced walk, perfect for a relaxed day outdoors.
We’ll finish our hike in Vernouillet-Verneuil, a picturesque village with a train station that connects directly to Paris on the J line to Gare Saint-Lazare.

We’ll stop for lunch/snacks in the forest, so bring your own food and water.

We’ll meet on Sunday, Dec 7, 11:20 AM in front of Villennes-sur-Seine Train Station, where our hike begins.
To get there, take train line J from Gare de Saint-Lazare; the 10:47 AM train arrives at Villennes-sur-Seine at 11:10 AM (24 min ride).

The activity will be in English, ideal for expats and anglophones living in or visiting Paris.

The GR1 Project is an opportunity to explore the natural beauty of the Île-de-France region, all within easy reach of Paris. Spanning a total of 550 km, this circular trail takes you around the city in a clockwise direction, offering a unique way to discover the peaceful landscapes, charming forests, and picturesque villages surrounding Paris.

Duration: ~4 hours including breaks and lunch
Where we meet: 11:20 AM, Villennes-sur-Seine Train Station
Where we finish: Vernouillet-Verneuil Train Station (from there we have the train J back to Gare Saint-Lazare)
Who it’s for: For those who want to escape the city and hike the GR1 adventure with friendly company. No special experience needed.
Make sure you can walk this distance and feel comfortable with it. You are responsible for your own actions!
What to bring: Small backpack, water (1L), lunch/snacks, comfortable shoes, rain jacket (or umbrella).
Participation fee: €10 per person (cash or transfer on Revolut/Lydia app) at the end of the trip.
