GR1 Stage 7: 24km of Vexin Views
Details
Hello everyone!
GR1: Stage 7 — Pontoise to L’Isle-Adam (24 km)
This stage of the GR1 offers us a transition from the urban-historic edges of Pontoise to the "River Park" atmosphere of L’Isle-Adam.
We begin the route by leaving Pontoise, passing through its historical heights before heading north. We will traverse a blend of forest paths, agricultural plateaus, and riverside trails, enjoying views over the Oise valley while crossing through the edges of the Vexin Français Natural Park. As we approach the end of the stage, the path leads us down toward the river, transitioning from the artistic heritage of the Pontoise/Auvers-sur-Oise area to the quiet, shaded woods near the water.
The GR1 Project is an opportunity to explore the natural beauty of the Île-de-France region, all within easy reach of Paris. Spanning a total of 550 km, this circular trail takes you around the city in a clockwise direction, offering a unique way to discover the peaceful landscapes, charming forests, and picturesque villages surrounding Paris.
!!! If it rains, we will have some muddy parts in the forest (white shoes are still accepted).
