A Night Walk in the Meudon Forest (12 km)

Hello everyone!

!!! I will cancel the event if we are not at least 5 participants.

I invite you to join something a bit different from our usual hikes: a night hike in the Forêt de Meudon, just outside Paris. It’s a unique experience to feel the forest in total darkness and enjoy some beautiful night views over Paris.

We meet in Meudon Train Station (ligne N); from there, we’ll start our climb towards the Observatoire de Meudon area, where we’ll catch our first panoramic views of Paris illuminated at night. In the second part of our hike, we’ll leave the forest near Clamart, where more stunning night views await. From there, we’ll descend towards Mairie d’Issy (metro line 12), where our hike will end.

!!! The Night Hiking Project is an idea to explore the outdoors from a different perspective. Also, it is a good opportunity to escape routine and meet fellow night hikers.

!!!Note: please make sure you bring a headlamp or a fully charged phone to use it for light.

Meudon Train Station – in front of the train station (exit via Place du 8 Mai 1945)
To get there, you can take train line N from Montparnasse - Bienvenüe at 18:05, in the direction of Rambouillet, arriving at Meudon Train Station at 18:15 (try to catch this train, please).

🎯Ending Point
We will finish at Mairie d’Issy. From there, we take train metro line 12 back to Paris centre.

• Distance: ~12 km
• Elevation gain: +170 m
• Duration: ~3h (including stops)
• Difficulty: Easy
• Dinner: We’ll stop for snacks in the forest, so please bring your own food and water.
• Language: English – ideal for expats and anglophones living in or visiting Paris.

You are responsible for your own actions — please ensure you feel comfortable with the distance, and you act responsibly.

• Lunch/snacks
• Comfortable walking shoes
• Rain jacket or umbrella
• Headlamp or phone (fully charged or power bank to charge it).
