Paris Philosophy Café — Conversations in French & English

Some questions are better explored together.

What makes a life meaningful? What do we owe one another? How do art, technology, love and tradition shape the way we live?

This group brings together curious people in Paris for thoughtful, friendly conversations about philosophy and everyday life. We meet in cafés to explore ideas, question our assumptions and get to know people whose experiences may be very different from our own.

No background in philosophy is required. Whether you read philosophy regularly or simply enjoy asking difficult questions, you are welcome.

Our gatherings are small, with around 8–12 participants, so everyone has a chance to contribute. We begin with introductions, explore a shared theme and leave time for informal conversation. Members are encouraged to suggest questions for future meetings and continue getting to know one another over time.

We value clear thinking, careful listening and friendly disagreement. Bring your convictions, your doubts and a willingness to reconsider both. Please help make room for quieter voices and engage respectfully with different perspectives.

Language: participants should be comfortable understanding both French and English, but may speak whichever of the two they prefer. Translation will not be provided systematically.

There is no participation fee; everyone pays for their own drinks.

Come for the questions. Stay for the conversation—and the people you meet.
