NEXT MEETING THIS WEDNESDAY 23 APRIL 2025 at 6.30 PM.

This is the 30th year of our English poetry reading group. We now meet
every FOURTH WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH at 6:30 pm, around
biscuits and tea. (Sometimes, when I am not in Paris, we will continue the
show by Zoom. Please write to receive the code). We read and discuss
poems, the best we know or can find. This is a reading group and not a
writing work shop. Indeed the poems are recited anonymously at first
reading. Let the poem stand on its own. Later we write to thank living poets.
Anything goes, but ideally, we want to read sweet, serious poems that take
us forward, help us understand. We do not want boring, pretentious or
incomprehensible stuff. Six or seven people, intelligent conversation, some
fellowship, no showing off, rather a place of learning and enquiry… it’s a
good way to spend an evening in midweek in this dry world. So do come and join us. Please ring or email us before, because space is limited. You don’t have to talk or bring poems. All are welcome. There is no charge.
