Allons découvrir cette exposition qui célèbre le travail de Maryam Mirzakhani. C’était une mathématicienne de renommée mondiale, lauréate de la médaille Fields pour ses contributions à « la dynamique et la géométrie des surfaces de Riemann et de leurs espaces de modules ».

Comme l’exposition a lieu dans leur bibliothèque uniquement du lundi au vendredi jusqu'à 30.05.2025, j’ai indiqué un créneau de 17h à 18h , mais n’hésitez pas à la visiter à un autre moment si cela vous convient mieux :)

Description:
Maryam Mirzakhani, mathématicienne iranienne, est la première femme médaillée Fields en 2014, disparue en 2017.
Réalisée par le Centre international de rencontres mathématiques (CIRM) à Luminy, cette grande exposition en son hommage, se compose de deux parties :

• Mathematical Worlds of Maryam Mirzakhani, sous la direction scientifique de Anton Zorich, présente en anglais les principaux axes de ses travaux mathématiques.
• L'espace des formes, sous la direction scientifique de Jayadev Athreya, s'adresse aux curieuses et curieux qui souhaitent connaître son travail sur les triangles, les tores et les surfaces.

Ces présentations sont accompagnées de la mini-BD intitulée Mirzakhani, la mathématicienne écrite et dessinée par Johan Segura.

À la fin d'expo, on pourrait echanger notre impressions sur l'expo et d'autres sujets autour d'un boisson dans la quartier.

Description:

Maryam Mirzakhani, an Iranian mathematician, was the first woman to receive the Fields Medal in 2014. She passed away in 2017.
Created by the Centre International de Rencontres Mathématiques (CIRM) in Luminy, this major exhibition in her honor consists of two parts:

• Mathematical Worlds of Maryam Mirzakhani, under the scientific direction of Anton Zorich, presents in English the main themes of her mathematical work.
• The Space of Shapes, under the scientific direction of Jayadev Athreya, is aimed at curious minds who wish to learn about her work on triangles, tori, and surfaces.

These presentations are accompanied by a short comic book titled Mirzakhani, la mathématicienne, written and illustrated by Johan Segura.

After the expo, we can get discuss our impressions of the expo and other topics over a drink.
