"May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds."
Welcome to the Paris Trail Running group!
If you think now "But wait, Paris is a big city, where do you run trails in a big city?" then boy, are you in for a treat! Parc de Saint-Cloud, Bois de Boulogne, Bois de Vincennes, Forêt de Meudon - they are all just outside the city limits and within easy metro/bus access. And then, just a short car/train ride away, there is also Forêt de Fontainebleau, Vallée de Chevreuse, Forêt de Montmorency, to name just a few...
There are also all the big and small races in more or less remote areas of France and other countries, which provide a really breathtaking (in any sense of the word) break from exploring local forests.
Whether you're training for a race, exercising, or trying to get into better shape, join us for runs on weeknights and weekends, and come encourage runners in races!
If you are looking for someone to have a run with, then please feel free to suggest an event - remember to try and be specific with a time and a place and how long and fast you want to run - if there are others interested, your suggestion could become a weekly meeting.
On the other hand, if you prefer pounding the city pavements, weaving between clueless tourists, stressed pedestrians and rushing cars, constantly stopping at red lights, breathing traffic fumes and other such pleasantries, then Let's Run Paris! https://www.meetup.com/Lets-Run-Paris/ might be the group for you.
This weekend our weekly run will happen on Sunday instead of "usual" Saturday, as on Saturday a pre-TDF J-1 bike ride requires my presence (https://www.meetup.com/Paris-Cycling-B-Group/events/263340985/ if anyone's interested).
Route similar to https://www.strava.com/activities/1845800435 - we'll make details as we go, and will try to get lost somewhere in the upper park.
Pace around 6 min/km, depending on the group.
Meet me at:
- 9h at the entrance to Musee de Sèvres (official meeting point), or
- 8h55 sharp at the quai Alphonse le Gallo exit of M9 Pont de Sèvres (https://bit.ly/2LiWnWb).
Consider bringing some water with you, as it might not be the coolest day in history...
