Saturday Community Bike Ride - Fall Colors Road Trip Take 2!

For something different from our usual rides around town, we'll mix it up for a 2nd straight week, with a mid-October ride through a nearby forest preserve, giving us a chance to see some changing leaves (note: 1 hr later this week to help us catch peak temps)!

Meet at Miami Woods parking lot (Cleveland St & Caldwell Ave, just north of Oakton in Niles) for an 11:30 AM ride. It will be moderate length (8-10 mi) and speed (approximately 10mph) on the paved North Branch Trail, a path very suitable for casual riders on a reliable bike.

Event is open to all, our goal is simply to promote biking in our area by bringing interested folks together for social rides in which we can get to know some neighbors and share info on a range of bike-related topics like safety, equipment & making our area more bike-friendly!

We ride as a group and do not leave folks behind. We always have fun riding, and typically have light refreshments after.

(1) Bring a HELMET please. (2) Carry photo ID & phone for emergencies. (3) No earbuds/earphones, portable speakers only at low volume. (4) Plan ahead & bring anything else you may need like spare tire/pump, water bottle, rain poncho or sunscreen. (5) This is a day ride but daytime running lights are always advisable, as is bright clothing. (6) Check this Meetup day of ride in case of last minute changes or weather-related cancellations.
