What we’re about
Book Swap Society was founded in 2022 by Nicole Wiebe. Nicole is an avid reader who was struggling with the high cost of new books and the long waitlists at her local library. She had a simple idea: What if she and her friends could trade books with each other? This idea blossomed into the Book Swap Society.
What began with Nicole and five friends meeting in a local Denver park to swap and discuss books quickly grew. Nicole began organizing events across Denver, attracting an average of over 75 participants at each gathering. Her vision was clear: books should be enjoyed and shared, not just read once and left to gather dust.
Parker Book Swap Society hosts events around the Parker, Colorado area for people to pass along their books to new readers in exchange for different books to take home for themselves! All book types are welcome: romance, history, thriller, mystery, memoirs, cook books, etc!
How Do Our Book Swap Events Work?
Step 1: Please bring at least one book to participate, feel free to bring more if you'd like
Step 2: Check in with the host and lay out your books on the designated tables
Step 3: Browse through other people’s books
Step 4: You may grab up to four new (to you) books to take home per person
Step 5: Mingle with fellow book lovers and support the venue
Step 6: The leftover books get circulated back into future Book Swap events, donated to Little Free Libraries, and donated to BookGive.
