What we’re about
About us: Love being outdoors, but don't always feel like hiking up a mountain? We enjoy lower energy gatherings in lovely, local San Diego parks, often with mellow lawn games like bocce ball, corn hole (bean bag toss), and Molkky (dowel and wood pins) - all of which can easily be played with social disatncing for those desiring that. We are lower energy, but high vibe. Online we've been enjoying peer-led discussions, practice groups, and short films - frequently with mindful topics like meditation, non-dual spirituality, or some aspect of our humanity. (Scroll through our past events to see some of our topics).
We've also been playing a lot of Pictionary on Zoom lately (and at the library study room in winter) but if you want to host or co-host other games, contact organizer.
Upcoming events (2)
See all- Pictionary (and Board Games) at La Jolla Riford Library Jun14Sat 1-3pLa Jolla/Riford Branch Library, La Jolla, CA
Let's play whiteboard Pictionary! (I am providing some side games like SkipBo by UNO, Chess, Backgammon, Scrabble, Monopoly, a simplified version of Trivial Pursuit, and/or playing cards if any attendees are not keen on Pictionary)!
MUST RSVP please, Limited Spots! No drawing skills necessary & beginners are welcome. We are a lighthearted, fun-loving meetup group. Because this is a medium-sized event and venue (limiting event to 22 people although the library seminar / presentation room has a Max of 40), please DO intend to come... If you don't show up or if you cancel after Friday it reduces the chance of someone else (eg Wait-Listed) to take your place; or will make for a too-small group by your absence. *Please be serious if you add a Plus-One guest*. All sounds fair? Thanks! :-)
- The SD City La Jolla/Riford library is at 7555 Draper Ave, La Jolla, CA 92037. There is free parking towards the right-side as you face the library entrance on Draper, but it appears to be a smallish lot with maybe ~14 spaces. There is lots of street residential parking right there out front though on a not busy street, or 3 blocks over at the ocean there is lots of parking and a nice walk to the Library!
Please be on time so we can divide teams up, explain the rules of the game just once, and get started by ~1:10pm. Alternatively, Peter can set you up with some of the side table or board games, or join you in those.
To find the group, you can enquire at the librarian's counter in which 'rented' room is the 'Peter and Hugh Pictionary MeetUp,' and a staffer will guide you.
If you aren't familiar with Pictionary, it'll go something like it does on the Jimmy Fallon show... Have a look at this short little video. We're looking forward to laughing with you!
