SASSAFRAS GULLY AND BEYOND THE PONDS. CANCELLED DUE TO SHOULDER SURGERY.

What a fantastic adventure as we proceed along tracks thickly laden with ferns, traverse at least a dozen creeks crossings (I counted about 20 last time),several foot bridges, explore numerous waterfalls and cascades, pass under extensive rock ledges, check out a few caves, relax beside a beautiful creek for lunch and all while trying to avoid leeches and keep our feet reasonably dry.

We start our journey with a scamper down the dark and mysterious Sassafras Gully on our way to Perch Ponds for a lunch break and a scrounge around then onto Martin Falls, Blue Pool, Magdala Falls before we head back following the beautiful Magdala Creek through the picturesque fern covered Magdala Gully to Springwood allowing for a rest stop at Fairy Dell Reserve.

About 14 kilometres and five hours on the hoof, bit more if you're feeling like a tourist. A few interesting creek crossings and some scrambling should help to make it a true adventure. Give me a buzz at 0451483009 if you think that will do any good.
