Details
In-person classes resume on March 1, 2022
What is tai chi? Here's a description from the Mayo Clinic:
"Tai chi is an ancient Chinese tradition that, today, is practiced as a graceful form of exercise. It involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing.
Tai chi, also called tai chi chuan, is a noncompetitive, self-paced system of gentle physical exercise and stretching. Each posture flows into the next without pause, ensuring that your body is in constant motion."
In this 45 minute class, Rev. Gregory Gibbs will guide participants through a short series of Tai Chi movements for exercise. Each session will start with gentle stretching and warm-up. Each series of movements will be performed slowly twice through and once at tempo. No prior experience is necessary. Please wear loose comfortable clothing and flat shoes. Participants may also perform the movements seated if balance or mobility is a challenge. Free. $5 Donation/class suggested. Free parking. Temple Annex (gym) or parking lot (weather permitting)
Classes will be led by Rev. Gregory Gibbs. Meets Tuesdays (except 2nd Tuesday of the month) and Thursdays at 1:00 pm.
• What to bring
Wear loose, comfortable clothing and flat-soled shoes. Please bring your own water bottles, if needed.
