Cabal of the Damned - A DND 4E Homebrew Adventure. Level 2

Details

The continent of Tyrslund has survived through thick and thin, but it isn't easy being so isolated from other landmasses. Surrounded by vicious seas on all sides, and an endless, impassable storm to the west, what little hope there is for Tyrslund against its many problems comes from within. The kingdoms of the land now face peril as an ancient pact resurfaces, and the undead grow in boldness. A time of war, strife, and death approaches swiftly, and only a new generation of heroes can hope to stem such a tide.

Cabal of the Damned is a Homebrew DND 4E game, set in a world which the DM is building. We are a group of three (two players and a DM) looking for two more players who will be able to commit to a game that will last roughly 30 weeks (This Thursday is the 4th session). The game runs weekly and is part of a closed group, meaning that new players who wish to join must be approved of by the current members of the group, and those who find themselves a permanent spot.

The game focuses on a story about a group of rising heroes combating the threats of Undead, who have grown bolder and bolder in the past months and weeks. Having already encountered some of these undead, and knowing that the enemy is more organized than some may want to believe, the heroes now quest to uncover the mystery, and to put a stop to the undead menace that rapidly spreads.

The basic house rules so far are simple, and may be added to as the game goes along. But for now, here are the essentials.

  • All ability scores start at base 20. I feel this makes the combat more dynamic and easier to provide a real challenge.

  • Characters get three bonus feats at level 1. However, one of these feats MUST be an Expertise Feat, and the other MUST be a Focus Feat. No exceptions. The third can be anything that the character meets the prerequisites for.

  • No overly outlandish races. Keep it vanilla. (Ask if you're not certain.) - All classes are welcome. - Standard magic item rules for starting. You get one above your character level, one equal to your character level, and one below your character level.

  • Starting wealth is 300gp for new characters.

  • The game does not have EXP. Characters level up every few sessions, when the DM says so.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Here is a player checklist to know you're a match for the game.

  1. Can make a regular weekly schedule, at 12 PM every Thursday for approximately 30 weeks, with few or no occasions to drop out. (Emergencies not included, of course! Just let us know a few days in advance, but we aren't interested in flakes.)

  2. Has a serious inclination towards roleplay and character development, and can make mature, reasonable choices.

  3. Mature, well-mannered, and focused. I've seen players lie, cheat, and sleep through games. This group isn't the place for people who'll do any of that. 4. Able to cut loose and know how to have fun when its called for.

If you have any questions, you may contact me through PM, or post on the meetup thread. Hope to see some new players for this game!
