INTRO TO WINE COURSE

Is the perfect place to start for those with a basic knowledge of wine, as well as beginners. This course presents an overview on key wine topics that will not only make you more knowledgeable, but also more conversant in something we all love, WINE. Each class will include tastings of several wines and tasting sheets.

INSTRUCTOR: MARIA GARCIA
While being a high school teacher, Maria’s interests changed course, when she became fascinated with wine. She landed at Spago, training under master sommelier, Chris Miller. There, she worked on the first 3 Wine Spectator Restaurant Award wine lists. She gained certifications through the Court of Master Sommeliers. She then ran the program at Republique, where she curated a cellar of approximately 1800 selections. She currently is the buyer for German, Austrian, Alsatian, Greek and other Eastern European wines for the Wine House, one of the biggest wine retailers in California.
