Containment in SQL Server 2022 - Contained DB and Contained AG

Es ist viel Zeit seit unserem letzten Meetup in Thüringen vergangen und der SQLPass Deutschland e.V. trägt seit ein paar Monaten den neuen Namen Datamonster e.V., der nötig wurde, um auch neue technische Entwicklungen rund um die Data Platform gerecht zu werden.

Thema des Meetup:
Als neustes Hochverfügbarkeitsfeature im SQL Server 2022 können Contained Availability Groups die Administration von hochverfügbaren Datenbanken erleichtern, bergen aber auch Risiken durch unerwartetes Verhalten der Availability Group.
Was eine Contained AG vom Konzept einer Contained Database unterscheidet, wird an verschiedenen Beispielen erklärt. Bei beiden Features wird auf die Themen Konfiguration, Administration und Security eingegangen.

A lot of time has passed since our last Meetup in Thuringia and SQLPass Deutschland e.V. has been renamed Datamonster e.V. for a few months now, which was necessary to reflect new technical developments around the Data Platform.

Meeting abstract:
As the latest high-availability feature in SQL Server 2022, Contained Availability Groups can simplify the administration of highly available databases, but also hold risks due to unexpected behaviour of the Availability Group.
The Concept of a containd db and a contained AG is quite different and will explained using various examples. Both Features will analysed in terms of configuration, administration and security.
The meeting is planned in german or english language, depending on the preference of the attendies.
