Cineforum Italiano: My Name is Tanino

The Washington, DC Italian Language Meetup Group is organizing a monthly Italian film in partnership with Commissione Giovani DC (CG-DC) and Italians in DC (IDC). This month's film will be shown at Letelier Theater (https://leteliertheater.com/) in Georgetown and with your support Cineforum Italiano (https://www.meetup.com/italiano/pages/Cineforum_Italiano) will become a monthly event for our group. Sinossi:
A young Sicilian named Tanino meets a young and beautiful American tourist named Sally while she is on vacation is Sicily. They have a romantic encounter but then Sally returns to America and she leaves behind her camera. Fascinated by his desire to see Sally again and also enchanted by the "American Dream", Tanino decides to travel to America, return Sally's camera and follow his dreams. Instead, he finds many funny misadventures resulting from cultural misconceptions and naivete.

This film was warmly received at the San Diego Italian Film Festival in 2009. The director is https://Paolo Virzì who is known as a contemporary master of the uniquely Italian style of film called "commedia all'italiana (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commedia_all%27italiana)".

4:15 pm: Program begins with introductions and film (110 minutes)
6:15 pm: Film discussion in the reception room and on the courtyard with food provided by Vafeltre Tours and a very enjoyable cup of gelato provided by Dolci Gelati! You're also welcome to bring your own food or drinks to enjoy yourself or share with others after the film!
7:30 pm: Time to say "Arrivederci"
