Buddhism 101: Social time for the soul

Details
Curious about Zen Buddhism but overwhelmed by all the books, beliefs, or Buddha statues?
Join us for a fun and approachable evening designed especially for beginners—no background required, just your curiosity.
We’ll meet at the historic Zen temple in Mountain View, where tech pioneers came to sit, reflect, and reconnect. This session is part of our “Zen Discussion Group” series—bringing ancient wisdom into modern life, and will be guided by a Zen Priest.
### 🧠 What to Expect:
- A gentle introduction to Zen meditation (don’t worry, we’ll guide you)
- A group conversation where everyone is invited to share thoughts and ask questions. Ever wondered if Buddhists worship Buddha? Or if meditation is supposed to make you feel calm? We’ll explore these kinds of questions together in a relaxed, open conversation—unpacking common beliefs, sharing perspectives, and discovering what Zen is really about. Expect a few laughs, a few surprises, and plenty of space to just be yourself.
- A tea & snack hangout afterwards to connect with fellow curious minds
Whether you’re here to debug your brain, explore spiritual source code, or just sit still for once—you’ll be right at home.
Note: If the Meetup appears full, feel free to show up anyway! The event is free and open to all. Donations to the temple are welcome but never required.
