National Trails Day Hike (Rose River Falls, Story of the Forest, Dark Hollow)

We will start at the Byrd visitor center and hike to the Story of the forest trail. We'll take that briefly to the horse trail heading north. we will stay on the horse trail to the Rose river falls trail. Then, we'll descend to Rose river falls and return to the visitor center via Dark hollow falls and back to Story of the forest. This is a moderate loop of about 5.5 miles. It should take about 3-3.5 hours. We will meet at the PATC table at Big Meadows in the morning. Please plan on being there a few minutes early, as the hike will promptly begin at 9:30.
It may be hot, so plan on wearing appropriate layers and sweat-wicking clothing. Appropriate footwear may include trail runners or hiking boots. Don't forget to bring sunscreen, bug spray, water, and snacks.
Kids are welcome, though the hike may not be appropriate for small children.
*No dogs are allowed on this hike
