Hike With Pride! (Blackrock Summit + Lewis Spring Falls)

Celebrate Pride Month with PATC and Adventuring LGBTQ+ on June 15th in Shenandoah National Park. We will be meeting at the Byrd Visitor Center, where we will depart for Blackrock summit. After hiking up to Blackrock, we will loop around to Lewis Spring Falls before heading back to the visitor center. This is a moderate hike of around 3.5 miles.

Afterwards we’ll picnic near Big Meadows Lodge, where we can indulge in Shenandoah’s infamous blackberry ice cream for dessert. To relieve any sugar highs, we’ll then do a moderate (and optional) 4-mile loop to enjoy the spectacular and very popular Rose River falls and cascades.

Make sure to wear appropriate footwear (trail runners or hiking boots) as there is a bit of scrambling at Blackrock. Bring plenty of water, snacks, bug spray, and sunscreen.
