🌸 PATC Women’s April Hike – Harpers Ferry 🌸
✨ Intro:
Ready for a little adventure? Join the PATC Women’s group for a lively hike through Harpers Ferry! We’ll explore a mix of scenic trails, climb to stunning viewpoints, and take in a stretch of the iconic Appalachian Trail. We’ll wrap it all up with good food and great company—whether you’re here for the hike, the history, or the hangout, this one has it all!
📅 Date: Sunday, April 19
🕘 Start Time: 9:00 AM
⏰ Meet Time: 8:30 AM (depart Visitor Center at 8:45 AM)
👥 Participant Limit: Limited to 11 hikers (all interested participants will be placed on a waitlist; those who have previously joined PATC hikes will receive priority
until 4/13/26, then remaining spots will be filled on first signed up bases)
📍 Meeting Location: Harpers Ferry Visitor Center
(We will take buses to Lower Town.)

Distance: ~3 miles
Trails:
Virginius Island Trail
Hall’s Island Trail
Camp Hill
Appalachian Trail (northbound)
🗺️ Route Overview
We’ll take the shuttle down to Lower Town and begin hiking along the Virginius Island and Hall’s Island trails.
From there, we will:
Reach the parking lot under the bridges
Hike up the road and connect to the Appalachian Trail (NB)
Take the stairs up to Storer College and the AT Visitor Center
Continue through town to:
Lockwood House
Harper Cemetery
Visit Jefferson Rock
Head back down via the AT to Lower Town
🍽️ Post-Hike Plans
We’ll stop for lunch at: The Rabbit Hole
Afterward, enjoy time to explore local shops or take a walk across the footbridge at the scenic meeting point of the Shenandoah & Potomac Rivers.
For those not wishing to stop for lunch, this will be the end of the hike.
