🌳🌿 FOREST THERAPY WALK 🌿🌳
Shenandoah River State Park | Fall Women’s Wellness Series 2026
What if, for a couple of hours, you gave yourself permission to slow down, put aside the to-do list, and simply be present in nature?
Join us for a gentle Forest Therapy Walk at Shenandoah River State Park.
🌳 WHAT IS FOREST THERAPY?
Forest Therapy—sometimes called forest bathing—is not about hiking for distance, exercising, or reaching a destination. Instead, it is an intentional practice of slowing down and connecting with the natural world through your senses.
During our time together, I’ll offer a series of gentle invitations that may encourage you to notice what you see, hear, smell, feel, and experience as you spend time among the trees and along the river.
There is no right or wrong way to participate. You are always welcome to engage with each invitation in whatever way feels comfortable for you.
🍂 WHAT TO EXPECT
Our walk will be slow-paced and cover a relatively short distance. We’ll pause frequently, allowing plenty of time to notice, explore, reflect, and simply be.
We’ll begin by arriving and grounding together, move through several guided nature-connection invitations, and finish by coming back together for a closing experience.
🌿 No previous experience is necessary.
🌿 You do not need to be an experienced hiker.
🌿 Sharing is always optional.
🌿 Come exactly as you are.
This is your invitation to spend a fall morning slowing down, breathing deeply, reconnecting with your senses, and experiencing the forest in a different way. 🍂🌳
💚 PROGRAM COST
The Forest Therapy Walk is FREE. There is a $10 fee to enter Shenandoah River State Park, unless you have a Virginia State Parks Annual Pass.
The Forest Therapy Walk is part of the Fall Women’s Wellness Series 2026, which I’m grateful to offer as a volunteer with Shenandoah River State Park.
