🎃🥾 HALLOWEEN CO-ED HIKE AT HUMPBACK ROCKS! 👻🍂

It’s that time again — our Halloween Hike!

Join us for a fun fall morning as we hike Humpback Rocks in costume.

🥾 About the Hike
The Humpback Rocks Trail begins at the south end of the Humpback Gap parking area. The blue-blazed trail provides access to Humpback Rocks, Humpback Mountain, and the Humpback Rocks Picnic Area.
For our Halloween Hike, we’ll be heading to Humpback Rocks, approximately 1 mile from the trailhead.

About a half-mile up the trail, we’ll take the spur trail on the left toward Humpback Rocks. The climb is short but strenuous, gaining approximately 700 feet in elevation before reaching the rock outcrop.
The reward? Spectacular views overlooking the Rockfish and Shenandoah Valleys. 🍁⛰️

The trail is generally marked with blue blazes, although sections that overlap with the Appalachian Trail may be marked with white blazes.

🎃 Costumes are encouraged!
Choose something comfortable and safe for hiking. Costumes should allow you to move easily and shouldn’t create a tripping hazard on the steep and rocky sections of trail.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Kids of all ages are welcome!
This will also be a co-ed hike, so feel free to invite spouses, partners, family members, and friends.

🚗 IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION
Humpback Rocks is an extremely popular trailhead, and the parking area is limited and often fills quickly on weekends.

Additional parking is available at the Humpback Rocks Visitor Center and Mountain Farm, approximately 0.2 miles north of the trailhead.

If you park at the Visitor Center, walk through the historic Mountain Farm, exit through the back fence, continue up the hill, carefully cross the Blue Ridge Parkway, and connect with the trails at the Humpback Gap parking area.

🍂 Come dressed for Halloween, enjoy the fall colors, tackle a good climb, take in some amazing mountain views, and spend the morning outdoors with us!
