The Doctor opposes war and the military mind - even though the military sometimes did some of his dirty work!
Yet in real life, a number of DW actors and production staff were veterans - Richard Todd, Bernard Cribbins, William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton and more. Jon Pertwee was (allegedly) even an instructor for a young Ian Fleming and answered directly to Winston Churchill!
