Bridge Day Weekend Oct 14-16 2016

One day a year BASE jumpers and Bugee jumpers are legally allowed to jump off a perfectly good bridge in West Virginia. That day is Oct 15, 2016 and we are travelling there to observe the action. The New River Gorge Bridge is 876ft high and 3036 ft across and is the second highest bridge in the US. We will be doing a lot of hiking, and possibly rockclimbinng that day.
On Sunday, we were originally scheduled to go Whitewater Rafting. However, due to lack of interest and the fact that very few people have paid, this part of the trip has been cancelled. Instead, we will be doing more backpacking/exploring in the area and possibly heading back early. There are NO meals included, only campground fees. This is a large civilized campground with restrooms and hot showers and even horses. We will probably have a There will be an All You Can Eat dinner at the campground on Bridge Day evening for about $22 per person and a live band at the CG tavern that night. We will probably have a bonfire on Saturday night. There is also an all you can eat breakfast on Sunday for about $20. Rafting may still be available, but I am not including it as part of the trip.
Leaving: Fri. Oct 14 about 4pm by CARPOOL
Returning: Sun Oct 16 betw 10-11pm
Cost: $34 for 2 nights camping.
You are responsible for your own camping gear, but I have some extra stuff including a very large tent.
