One day Portrait bootcamp - with Paul Berryman

This bootcamp is 100% designed to demystify the elusive magic of likeness orientated portraiture! Nope, they don't just "come from somewhere inside" a good portrait comes from using a process that can be made by applying three golden rules, which are simple to understand and applicable to ALL forms of 2D visual art, not just portraiture.

Using a mixture of slides, handouts and many hands-on exercises using a selection of specially selected charcoals, in just one day you can benefit from nine solid years of Paul's hard work. The result will be an understanding of the fastest way to make a likeness focused portrait without feeling overwhelmed or lost!

The course is for anyone, but perhaps is most suitable for artists that have some experience in basic drawing, but who may feel their portraiture still lacks the likeness or realism which they seek. If you're an outright beginner, then it is still possible to find real value in the course and your sign up is still welcomed.

All drawing materials are provided, as are handouts and a follow up PDF of the key learning materials shared in the workshop.

On-the-day-basics
We'll take a quick break for tea, coffee and biscuits (which are all vegan friendly) in both the morning and afternoon, plus half an hour for lunch (please bring your own packed lunch, a kettle and microwave are available for heating and food prep).
