NW PARK PASS NEEDED.
Hosmer is such a beautiful paddle! PLEASE RELATIVELY EXPERIENCED PADDLERS. Arrive early, bring LUNCH, INSECT REPELLENT, WATER, SNACK, SUNSCREEN, KAYAK READINESS, KNOWLEDGE AND SAFTY. NORTHWEST PARK PASS NEEDED.
The lake is a hidden jewel of green and blue surrounded by dark green forest. Thickets of bulrush wands hide the most secretive wildlife and fish. At the north end, water drains into a porous rim of lava. The best way to experience this lake is by canoe, but a shoreline hike will still produce wondrous sights and sounds. Take your camera to capture the spectacular view of Mt. Bachelor.
Hosmer is a βfly fishing onlyβ lake well known for its breath taking views of Mt. Bachelor, South Sisters, Broken top, wildlife viewing and the big Atlantic salmon, brook trout and rainbows that are quite visible in this shallow clear lake. John Huber (1998 compares Hosmer Lake to a spring creek because many of the fish are easy to see, giving you a clear view of one denial after another. At Hosmer Lake, the Atlantic salmon average 16 inches (largest in the 22 inch range) and brook trout average 14 inches. Hosmer Lake is also a very popular lake for canoeists because of the beautiful surroundings, the abundant wildlife, waterfowl and easily seen large fish swimming around.
Caution:
Bring insect repellent!
*Dogs are not allowed on hikes unless specifically noted. Well behaved dogs are welcome at any food truck events but must be kept on a leash. Many of my food truck events are quite full so please take this into consideration.
*If you have any questions, comments or complaints...please message me.
Hiking, kayaking, snowshoeing: All skill levels are welcome. Each event will disclose the location, skill level, distance and approximate duration, and gear and equipment required. PPSG recommends you pack the βTen Essentialsβ for all hiking events: https://americanhiking.org/resources/10essentials/
Pets are only allowed when noted on the event.

Events fill-up quickly. Members are encouraged to download the Meetup app to receive notifications for events as soon as they are posted.
When an event is full (reached its attendee limit), you may be assigned to the Waitlist. If spots open up, members are automatically RSVPed to the event in the order that they joined the Waitlist.
