!HIKE! PAULINA PEAK (6.1 MILES DIFFICULT!)

8-27-2023** After much consideration and watching the AQI for not only Paulina Peak but Paulina Lake because we have to start low to get high…I AM GOING TO CANCEL DUE TO UNHEALTHY AQI. It’s going to be hazy and the view will not be a clear one. I’m going to reschedule!

THIS IS A DIFFICULT HIKE, PLEASE ONLY EXPERIENCED HIKERS. THIS HIKE IS HARD ON THE KNEES.**

*****PARKING INSTRUCTIONS: FOLLOW SIGN TO PAULINA PEAK TRAILHEAD (on the RIGHT, across CG). The paved road turns into gravel. There's a small parking area on the right so arrive early. The trailhead is directly across. See pics posted. Caravan if possible.*Get to know this 6.1-mile out-and-back trail near La Pine, Oregon. Generally considered a challenging route, it takes an average of 3 h 26 min to complete. This is a very popular area for camping and hiking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are June through October.

BRING POLE(S), PLENTY OF WATER (CAMELBACK IS ADVISABLE), A HEALTHY SNACK TO EAT AT THE TOP, DRESS IN LAYERS, BUG SPRAY, SUNSCREEN, PROPER HIKING BOOTS.

ATTENDING EVENTS

Please read the entire event description before signing up and only sign-up for events within your capabilities.

All events have an attendee limit. Attendee limits are determined by the nature of the event and the number of Event Hosts attending an event.

Events fill-up quickly. Members are encouraged to download the Meetup app to receive notifications for events as soon as they are posted.

When an event is full (reached its attendee limit), you may be assigned to the Waitlist. If spots open up, members are automatically RSVPed to the event in the order that they joined the Waitlist. Please be patient if you’re on the Waitlist. It's common for the head count to fall as an event gets closer, and most likely you will be RSVPed.

If you are unable to attend an event, please unRSVP no later than 24-hours prior to the event. This allows members on the Waitlist to be RSVPed.

If you are unable to attend an event the day of the event, please contact the Event Host as soon as possible. Otherwise, the Event Host may proceed with the event without you.

No shows will be marked as such and after three no shows you will be a “no go.”
