SOMETHING DIFFERENT TO DO WITH YOUR AFTERNOON.
Shevlin is close and the weather should be pleasant. A nice casual hike along the river and maybe an imformal get together for brews or a bite afterwards????

This is an easy, pretty hike along the river and in the trees.
Please arrive a little early. GO TO THE LARGER PARKING LOT WITH THE BATHROOM AND THE COVERED PICNIC AREA. WE WILL MEET AT THE MAIN BATHROOM.
Bring water, proper hiking shoes, pole(s), 10 essentials, park pass, water, snack and a smile.
NO DOGS PLEASE.
Head out on this 4.9-mile loop trail near Bend, Oregon. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 1 h 42 min to complete. This is a popular trail for hiking, mountain biking, and snowshoeing, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The best times to visit this trail are April through November.
This beautiful trail through Shevlin Park is perfect for an everyday afternoon walk, run or bike ride. The popular path runs along Tumalo Creek most of the time, and there are various options for extending your journey. The route begins with the Sheland Loop Trail, which is slightly narrower and has more elevation change than the return stretch along the wide and sandy Tumalo Creek Trail. All trails are well-marked, with many benches and picnic tables where you can stop along the way. You can park at the trailhead off Northwest Shelvin Park Road.EVENTS
Hiking, kayaking, snowshoeing: All skill levels are welcome. Each event will disclose the location, skill level, distance and approximate duration, and gear and equipment required. PPSG recommends you pack the “Ten Essentials” for all hiking events: https://americanhiking.org/resources/10essentials/
ATTENDING EVENTS
Please read the entire event description before signing up and only sign-up for events within your capabilities.
All events have an attendee limit. Attendee limits are determined by the nature of the event and the number of Event Hosts attending an event.
Events fill-up quickly. Members are encouraged to download the Meetup app to receive notifications for events as soon as they are posted.
When an event is full (reached its attendee limit), you may be assigned to the Waitlist. If spots open up, members are automatically RSVPed to the event in the order that they joined the Waitlist. Please be patient if you’re on the Waitlist. It's common for the head count to fall as an event gets closer, and most likely you will be RSVPed.
If you are unable to attend an event, please unRSVP no later than 24-hours prior to the event. This allows members on the Waitlist to be RSVPed.
If you are unable to attend an event the day of the event, please contact the Event Host as soon as possible. Otherwise, the Event Host may proceed with the event without you.
No shows will be marked as such and after three no shows you will be a “no go.”
