**REVISION DEC 2, 2025: Kristen has asked if we could start it at 4:30pm instead of 5:30pm. Of course we will accommodate her and hopefully it won't affect your RSVP.
*Dec 2, 2025 I GOT THE THUMBS UP FROM SPIDER BREWERY AND KRISTEN FOR DEC. 20TH, 5:30 PM. YOUR WELCOME TO ARRIVE EARLY.
***This will be a very casual, informal Meet & Greet with Kristen (and I think her husband) on a personal level. They will be putting on full blown presentations at a later date that you can catch in the near future. Bring your book for a signing or you can purchase from Kristen there.

I happened to be walking along the Old Mill and ran into one of my favorite members, Donald, who was walking with Kristen Jokinen (who he had JUST met on the trail) and we got to talking. She told me about her book "JOY RIDE" (which I have ordered to read) and offered to do a personal presentation for PPSG.
Kristen and her husband did this trek and they have several presentations in the works at a couple of large local retailers...we will be getting an up close and personal presentation.

Explorers Kristen and Ville Jokinen met and fell in love while scuba diving in Vietnam. Ville then left his native Finland to join Kristen in Oregon and together they embarked on a life-changing two-year cycling adventure covering 18,000 miles from Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, to Ushuaia, Argentina. Despite never having cycled further than around the block, they persevered unrelenting, punishing rain and wind, altitude sickness, dog attacks, bike accidents, and countless flat tires to cycle between the ends of the earth. Kristen and Ville believe that kindness connects us to our shared humanity. They held babies, attended quinceañeras, drank pulque, played soccer, and visited schools. People in Mexico, Central America, and South America invited them into their hearts and homes, allowed them to camp in their fields and farms, and acted as personal tour guides. Kristen and Ville are love on wheels, and who doesn’t need a little more love in their lives?

ATTENDING EVENTS
Please read the entire event description before signing up and only sign-up for events within your capabilities. If you RSVP and can't make it...UNRSVP!

All events have an attendee limit. Attendee limits are determined by the nature of the event and the number of Event Hosts attending an event.
Events fill-up quickly. Members are encouraged to download the Meetup app to receive notifications for events as soon as they are posted.

When an event is full (reached its attendee limit), you may be assigned to the Waitlist. If spots open up, members are automatically RSVPed to the event in the order that they joined the Waitlist. Please be patient if you’re on the Waitlist. It's common for the head count to fall as an event gets closer, and most likely you will be RSVPed.

If you are unable to attend an event, please unRSVP prior to the event. This allows members on the Waitlist to be RSVPed. I don't need a reason or explanation as to WHY you can't attend.
No shows will be marked as such and after three no shows you will be a “no go.”
